Welcome to our website

We encounter pathogens regularly in everyday life, however we do not succumb to disease or infection each time. This is due to our immune system, it is key to our survival as is most clearly seen when looking at disease which can occur when the immune system cannot function properly, for example in autoimmune diseases

Our immune systems are capable of detecting invading disease-causign agents, and manufacturing specific antibodies and mobilising cells to fight off an infection. It does this through a very specific and com;icated set of mechanisms and cascades, may of which are not yet completetly understood.
